As we look forward to the fall we must be conscious of what is happening in the world around us. Based on concerns for the health and safety of our families and the physical distancing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and the Diocese of Trenton, I continue to monitor and watch for guidance. While these adjustments continue to change, I cannot at this time post registration for 2020-2021. We are going to great lengths to protect our students and volunteers against the spread of COVID-19. What I can promise is a superior Catholic education during these unprecedented times. I hope to hold Registration in July. Continue to monitor this site, the Parish Bulletin emailed home and our Parish Facebook page for the most up-to-date communication. Always remember we are one CATHOLIC family. We will get through this, as with all the challenges before us, together. Live our Creed.
What I can attest to is that we have some very favorable changes to our curriculum. 1st-6th grade will now be using “Christ in Us” by Sadlier. (Currently we used “We Believe” by Sadlier.) This new program comes with detailed class plans and a digital portal for Catechist, parent and child. Faithful, comprehensive, structured, and effective catechesis is delivered through a variety of instructional models, supported by digital portals for all users, providing the ability to adapt to the real-time needs of their learners and their learning environments. 7th grade will now be adding in a minimal amount of Decision Point, currently used solely by our 8th grade classes. Class time will also be reduced by 30 minutes to aide in the amount of time children are dropped off for class and picked up after Mass. We have found that dropping children off for class and then meeting them at Mass means they’ll have been here for nearly 3 hours.
We continue to work on class times that both suit the Parish, our RE families, and Mass schedule. All the specifics will be included in the Registration Packet once we can commit to our program times.
May you continue to stay safe,
